Having a tooth pulled SCARED!?

Well basically, I had a baby molar that I didn't pull out and an adult one grew underneath it and pushed it up, but not out. It's not very wobbly anymore and it's been like this for a year. I'm having it taken out but they're using a needle and nerve gas. I'm **** scared of the needle and the actual tooth pulling. Please, someone reassure me. And does it hurt?
